Ting Zhang has 20+ years experience of UK-China international business, trade and investment. After a successful career in international trade and investment in China, Ting first came to the UK to study MBA in the University of Cambridge, and then in 2001, foreseeing the increasing trade between the UK and China, Ting left her career as a banker in the City of London and founded China Business Solutions. Since then Ting has built the company into a reputable China specialist firm in the UK.
Ting is well connected with the business and education community across China and in Europe, and her clients have included FTSE100 corporates, hi-tech SMEs, top UK universities and UK / European government agencies. Ting’s extensive China-European experience enables her to advise clients on a wide range of cross-border business issues, including market entry, partnering, due diligence, technology transfer, IP licensing, as well as cross culture and business practices.
In recent years, with Chinese businesses going global to follow the “China Dream”, Ting has been engaged by some of China’s emerging technology companies to help expand into the European market through M&A and technology partnership, securing successful multimillion dollar deals. She has been a China Venture Partner for Prime Ventures since 2010, a leading European VC, focusing on opportunities presented by the rapid economic growth of China. Starting in 2015 Ting is a special advisor to Lord Wei of Shoreditch, the only ethnic Chinese member in the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. Ting is a regular speaker on business aspects of China, and has been interviewed in the media including BBC and CCTV. She has also published numerous articles on doing business in China, and on Chinese investment into UK/Europe.
Ting holds an MBA degree from the Judge Business School, Cambridge University, and a BA degree in International Business from Shanghai International Studies University. She is a native Chinese, fluent in English and has lived in the UK for 19 years.
