I am currently a second-year maths student from Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge.
For the past two years, I have been involved in team research projects, event organisation and publicity. In my first year’s lent term, I worked as an external consultant on a Social Innovation Programme, run by Cambridge Hub and Genuine Insights. The program aimed to delivers free workshops to support young people in the pursuit of their dreams. I am interested in data analysis and market ressearch opportunities. I conducted a market research on trusts that pursue the entrepreneurial development of young people. Based on my research, we created surveys targeted at young people from Eastern Europe. I then analysed the responses both quantitatively and qualitatively. Finally, our team jointly produced a written team report and gave presentations to all participants with findings and recommendations and was praised as the best team by many audiences.
In my position as Vice President of Cambridge Chinese Cultural Society, I assisted Publicity Officer with advertisements of society events, gathered member feedbacks and liaised with other societies on events. I was also in charge of the society family system management. To fulfil my duties, it was essential to set up a good rapport with people and hence my interpersonal skills were strengthened.
