Technical translation for conference calls and email listed by David Ely on 3rd July 2017
We develop integrated circuits for measuring the precise position of parts in machines. Our customers design electromechanical products. Our technology is unique, allowing customers to build their own position sensors as conventional PCBs. This makes them robust, low-cost and precise.
We are starting to research possible customers in China, with the assistance of CBBC. We are generating interest in our technology, but need to discuss it in detail with them. Customers have expressed a preference for discussions in a conference call.
Our immediate need is for someone to help translate between English and Mandarin in a conference call at our premises in Cambridge. We would like them to learn about our technology, products and business beforehand, and help research the customers we will talk with, so that conference calls are as productive as possible.
Our budget is between £20 and £35 per hour depending on experience and skills, plus any travel expenses. The initial project is likely to take 3 hours.
Although initially small, we would ideally like the translation role to develop into a larger project assisting with business development in China. This suits someone with an engineering background keen on interaction with customers and learning about new electronic sensor technology.
Please see the attached presentation for more details.
