To keep our clients abreast of what’s happening in the UK-China trade and business, we will be holding a series of China briefing events in 2021. The first one will be happening during the Chinese New Year period.

Speakers: 

Tony Clemson, Deputy Director, Innovation & Industry DIT China

Tony promotes greater cooperation between the UK and China in the Technology and Advanced Manufacturing sectors (autos, marine, advanced engineering, chemicals).  He previously served as Deputy Consul-General in Shanghai from 2016 to 2019.  In prior diplomatic roles Tony covered international cyber security policy in London, and political and economic issues in South Korea and New Zealand.

Jim James, Founder & CEO, EASTWEST PR Group

Jim James is a British entrepreneur who left UK to set up his first company in Singapore in 1995, and then in China in 2006, only returning to the UK in 2019. In the intervening years he set up the Indian operations for his PR company, but also set up the sole importer of Morgan cars to China, founded the British Business Awards in China, the British Motorsport Festival, was interim CEO of Lotus Cars, and was the Vice Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce.

The event will take a roundtable format for interactive discussions with the speakers in person.
